The PIGPANDA goes to Bonifacio Stopover! Special thanks to Aldous for organizing the event :>
Abe described Shawarma bros as a fusion and tribute to the traditional / authentic shawarma. Their recipes came from a Chef from CCA. They started as a foodtruck business. (I remember seeing their foodtruck in wanderland music festival) They decided to open an actual store to expand since the food trucks are "seasonal".

I ordered their bestseller, Beef Shawarma Rice with Keema and Biryani rice. Servings are huge & two not-so-hungry people can actually share in the meal that I ordered. The garlic yogurt sauce was a bit sweet (compared to traditional garlic sauce) but it went very well with the beef and tomatoes. The keema was good on its own and it's also good with the rice. The biryani rice had cumin / middle eastern tasting flavor. (I can still taste the flavor when I burp. Yummmm) The cheese sauce was also sweet. It reminded me of of the dip in nachos with a mild bleu cheese flavor. (Especially if you mix it with the keema, chips nalang kulang. lol ) The chilli tomato sauce is a good mix to the garlic yogurt because it adds an extra kick. Medyo bitin lang ung garlic yogurt. Next time I would order two of the garlic yogurt sauce instead of getting two different sauces. The meal also came with ALLMYTEA. It neutralized the after taste of the flavors.
My sister ordered the Lamb Steak rice. After trying the lamb steak and eating the beef again, you'd notice that the beef would taste bland. "Parang wala palang lasa yung beef?". I'd recommend the lamb since it's more flavorful and the chunks of the meat are bigger compared to the beef.
PIGPANDA rating: 4/5 Overall, it was a very yummy meal. Please order the Lamb Steak rice! It's rare to find restaurants that have authentic tasting shawarma and are in a reasonable price range. Great job to Abe and team for Shawarma Bros! Thank you to Aldous for the invite!
